Overview of the Dialogue Meetings in Fukushima Initiated by ICRP Now Available

2019-07-16

As a result of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) initiated dialogue meetings commencing in the fall of 2011.  Along with ICRP professionals, representatives of the Fukushima Prefecture, local professionals, local communities, as well as Belarusian, Norwegian, and French organisations would meet to discuss the challenges in the long-term rehabilitation in the affected areas after the accident.

After a series of 12 meetings between 2011-2015 were closed by an international workshop, a group of local stakeholders took over and organised a new series of eight meetings from 2016-2018.

Further information on all dialogue meetings, organisations, authors, and participants can be found in this recently released article.

Questions and inquiries can be directed to Kelsey Cloutier, Development and Communications Manager for ICRP.
