Prof. Eduardo GALLEGO, Full professor of Nuclear Engineering. Long academic career since 1986. Teaching activity on Radiological Protection, Radioactive Waste Management, Environmental Radiological Impact Assessment and Nuclear Safety. Supervisor of 9 PhD Theses. Director of UPM MSc Program on Nuclear Science and Technology. Head of UPM research group on Science and technology of advanced nuclear fission systems.

• Environmental radiological impact


• Accident consequence assessment


• Emergency planning, countermeasures and rehabilitation strategies analysis for radioactively contaminated areas


• Neutron dosimetry and neutron measurement instruments (supervisor of the neutron research laboratory of the university).

Member of the Spanish Radiological Protection Society (SEPR) since 1986, member of the Executive Board (as Treasurer) (2000-2004), Vice-President (2010-2012) and President (2013-2015).

Member of the Executive Council of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA) (2008-2016) and Vice-President (2016-2020).

Member of Committee 4 of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) (2013- ).
