Mônica Oliveira Bernardo (Brazil) is the chair of Radiation Protection Commission and member of the Appropriateness Criteria Committee of the Brazilian College of Radiology, focusing on radiation protection in medicine, medical empathy and medical education.
Dr. Mônica Bernardo is a professor of Radiology at the Faculty Medicine of the University of São Paulo in Sorocaba, member of the Education and Research Department and supervisor in radiological protection at the Hospital Miguel Soeiro. Dr. Bernardo is the leader in Radiation Protection of the Executive Committee of Latin Safe and Society Latin America of Radiology Pediatric (SLARP). Mônica served as manager and technical responsible in facilities: Top Imagem Radiology Clinic, Hospital Santa Lucinda, GPACI – Pediatric Hospital Cancer, and Miguel Soeiro Hospital enrolled with Brazilian regulations on human research, institution's process and policies for human research, ethical, quality and safety patients process on regulations for the functioning of the service according to the Ministry of Health. Post Doctoring Course by University of São Paulo, research in Dose Reference Level in Adult and Pediatric CT; Doctorate in the Sciences at Medical University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and Master of Sciences in the Faculty Medicine of the University of São Paulo Science. Specialization of Health Education and in Health Management. Residence in Radiology and Internal Medicine in Hospital Heliopolis. Acting in the body of reviewers of the journals: Insights into Imaging. Mônica Bernardo has been applying education projects in Appropriateness criteria and training of multi professional team and undergraduate and residents about Quality and Patient Safety, risk and benefits of ionizing radiation and Dose Reference Levels determination.
