Daniel Puerta holds an MSci degree in Mathematics and Physics from University College London and an MASt in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. After a brief experience in industry in Silvaco Inc., he joined the Department of Atomic, Molecular and Nuclear Physics at the University of Granada, working on proton dosimetry. This work became the basis for his thesis on the physical dosimetry of hadron beams and their biological effectiveness, which he began with a scholarship from the Andalusian Regional Government. He is currently pursuing his PhD and he is interested in particle therapy, radiobiology and their Monte Carlo simulation. He has undertaken part of his doctoral research at Imperial College London and at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
