The article considers the main directions of scientific and organizational activities of Professor P.V. Ramzaev during his work at the Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene. In particular, the results of a study of global radioactive fallout in the Far North of the USSR, as well as a study of the radiation situation and assessment of public exposure doses after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant are presented in a systematic way.
