Pupil of W. Gerlach and O. Hug. Fundamental works on microdosimetry and radiation epidemiology. Introduction of modern mathematical methods.


Prof. Kellerer was the director of the Institute of Radiation Biology at the University of Munich, as well as being director of the Institute of Radiation Biology of the GSF-Research Centre for Health and the Environment, Neuherberg.


Main focus and scope of activities: Theoretical biophysics as well as cellular radiation biology and epidemiology. He is member of the German Radiation Protection Commission and of the International Radiation Protection Commission ICRP and editor of the Journal Radiation and Environmental Biophysics.
