The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) is proud to announce François Paquet as the inaugural recipient of the ICRP Madan Rehani Award, a distinction established to honour exceptional leadership in advancing radiological protection through ICRP Task Groups and Publications. The ICRP Madan Rehani Award recognises outstanding contributions to the timely development of impactful ICRP Publications. It is awarded to the Chair or Co-Chairs of an ICRP Task Group whose work has had a significant influence on the field of radiological protection. The award includes a medal and certificate, presented at each biennial ICRP Symposium.

François Paquet
François Paquet has been selected for this honour in recognition of his distinguished leadership and sustained contributions to radiological protection. He currently serves as Deputy Director of Research and Expertise in the Environment at the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiological Protection (ASNR), France. Within ICRP, he chairs the Task Group on Internal Dose Coefficients (IDC) and serves as Vice-Chair of Committee 2.
His professional career reflects a deep commitment to radiological protection. He has previously served as Professor at the National Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Chairman of an expert group on occupational toxicological limits, and as a scientific board member at the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES). His international roles include Chairmanship of the Radiological and Nuclear Threats Working Group under the Global Health Security Initiative (GHSAG), Editor-in-Chief of the journal Radioprotection, and participation in expert groups such as EGIS (OECD), HAT Task Group (ICRP), EULEP (CEC), and multiple ICRP Task Groups.
Dr. Paquet is author or co-author of over 180 peer-reviewed publications and 20 books or book chapters, including 7 ICRP publications.
