The MC confirmed via postal ballot to stay with Elsevier Science Ltd. as the publisher and subsequently renewed the contract.
The Commission invited Tor Wohni to become a member of Committee 2.
The Swedish Royal Academy of sciences accepted Commission proposal to transfer their Medal to IRPA congress.
The Commission received progress reports and gave recommendations for the following reports:
• ‘Dose Coefficients for the Offspring from Intakes of Radionuclides by the Mother Before and During Pregnancy'
• ‘Reliability of the ICRP's Dose Coefficients for Intake of Radionuclides'
• ‘Application of the New ICRP Respiratory Tract Model'
In general feedback was positive and recommendations mostly were concerned with clarity and formatting.
The Commission met with working groups related to releasing publications on CDs.
• ICRP CD-ROM expanding Publications 67, 68, 69, 71 and 72
• BJS NRPB CD-ROM expanding the revised Publication 54
The Commission decided that interactive software would not be produced or approved by ICRP and will not pursue CD publication of reports and journals.
The Commission reviewed and adopted the following reports:
• `Individual Monitoring for Internal Exposure of Workers: Replacement of ICRP Publication 54'
• `Radiological Protection Policy for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste'
• `Genetic Susceptibility to Cancer'
• Emeritus Members
• `History and Policies of the Commission'
• `Curios'
The former 3 documents were not scientific documents but rather had more to do with internal processes and structures within the ICRP itself.
The Chairman thanked the following members of the Commission for their work in contributing to successful work at the Commission in light of their approaching retirements: John Dunster, Wolfgang Jacobi, Li Deping, Julian Liniecki, and Warren Sinclair.
