Main Commission Meeting Madrid 2006
Summary
The Main Commission met in Madrid, Spain from March 22nd-24th 2006.
A draft of the document on the scope of the ICRP’s Recommendations being written by a task group chaired by A. González was presented to the Main Commission. The document had already been approved for public consultation on the ICRP website with a final draft expected to be ready for the next ICRP meeting.
Committee 1 Foundation Document Health Risks is approved for publishing. The document outlines the assumptions used in the prediction of the induction of cancer at low dose. The report also summarizes the relationship between radiation dose and cancer risk. It can be read in Annex A of the 2007 Recommendations (Publication 103).
The latest draft version of Committee 2 Foundation Document was discussed. The document is approved for placement on the ICRP website for web consultation. Among other items, the document reviews the main dosimetric quantities needed to assess radiation exposure in humans.
