The following members indicated their intention not to seek re-election: Dr I Shigematsu, Dr G Silini, and Dr A K Guskova.
The Commission reviewed the following reports and approved them for publication granted the discussed editorial amendments were made:
• The Summary of Current ICRP Principles for the Protection of the Patient in Diagnostic Radiology
• Radiological Protection in Biomedical Research
• The report on the first Addendum to ICRP Publication 53 on Radiation Doses to Patients from Radiopharmaceuticals
• The report on Protection from Potential Exposure: A Conceptual Framework
• Principles for Intervention for Protection of the Public in a Radiological Emergency
The following reports were received by the Commission but final approval was deferred for further consideration:
• Human Respiratory Tract Model for Radiological Protection
• Protection against Radon in Buildings
The Commission agreed to set up a Commission Task Group to produce a report on recommendations for radon limits in homes, above ground workplaces, and mines.
The Commission heard approvals regarding the development of biokinetic models for radionuclides which were approved.
The Commission received work progress reports from the Committees:
C1- A proposal to set up a TG on Genetic Susceptibility to cancer was approved.
C2- Dr I Likhtarev was invited to become a full member of TG on Dose Calculations. Revision of ICRP Publication 30 was also agreed to be undertaken.
C3- A summary and two reports were adopted by the Commission.
C4- Decisions regarding reports submitted are detailed elsewhere.
The date and time for the next Commission meeting will be decided at the NRPB at Chilton 27-29 September 1993.
