ICRP Main Commission Meeting
2007 March 19-21 – Essen, Germany
The
Main Commission of the International Commission on Radiological Protection met in Essen, Germany, March 19-21, 2007.
Amendments were discussed regarding
Draft C1 Foundation Document on Health Risks and
Draft C2 Document on Dosimetric Quantities and were unanimously approved by the Commission. The Scientific Secretary was requested to undertake final editing.
The report
MC Building Block on Scope and
C3 Medical Foundation document /Building block (32/14/07) was decided by the Commission that it was advanced enough that final approval for publication would not require further plenary discussion. Further discussions would be made via postal ballot.
The Commission heard progress updates on the following reports to consider for possible approval to public web consultation for the Berlin 2007 Main Commission meeting.
- TG 66 on the Application of ICRP Recommendations to Protection in Contaminated Territories
- TG 65 on the Application of ICRP Recommendations to Emergencies
The Commission approved
C3 TG Report on Multi-Detector CT for final publication.
The Commission received updates regarding task groups C3,C4 and C5. The MC acknowledged that Task groups C3-C4 had not yet been formed due to various practical problems and there was to be a discussion regarding launching a new Task Group (C5) but there was not enough time to discuss the matter.
The next MC meeting was planned for 2008 in Buenos Aires in the autumn to be held in conjunction with the IRPA meeting.
