ICRP regrets to announce that The Honorable Greta Joy Dicus, former member of the Main Commission of ICRP, passed away at the age of 66 years on 30 August after a period of illness. Greta had had a long career as a distinguished health physicist and as a public servant in the United States where, among many important tasks, she was one of the longest serving members of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and for a period in 1999 its Chairman. She was a member of the Main Commission of ICRP for its 2001-2005 term. Her input to the ICRP discussions, informed by her considerable regulatory and practical experience, as well as her kindness and great sense of humour, made her a greatly appreciated person, and she will be greatly missed.
