ICRP Welcomes Dr Keisuke Nakamura

On behalf of the entire ICRP membership, we would like to welcome Dr Keisuke Nakamura to the Scientific Secretariat.  With special thanks to the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), Dr Nakamura will join ICRP as Assistant Scientific Secretary and Associate Editor of the Annals of ICRP.

Keisuke received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Kyushu University in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He also received his Doctorate in Engineering from the Department of Applied Quantum Physics and Nuclear Engineering at Kyushu University, and the subject of his thesis was " Study on the evaluation of transuranium element internal doses by microcalorimeter for X-ray spectrometry ". In April 2009, he joined the JAEA.

After joining the JAEA, he worked in the Radiation Control Section at the Tokai Reprocessing Plant before transferring to headquarters.  Most recently, Dr Nakamura has been managing activities related to safety and nuclear security at all JAEA sites.

Keisuke succeeds Dr Takashi Yasumune as Assistant Scientific Secretary and continues a valuable line of Japanese experts to join the ICRP Scientific Secretariat in Ottawa, Canada on two-year terms.
