ICRP regrets to announce that Dr Masahiro Doi, member of ICRP Committee 5, passed away at the age of only 46 years on 23 July. He had suffered an intracranial haemorrhage on 29 June while on duty travel in Norway. Masahiro was the Leader of Regulatory Sciences Research Group at Japan's National Institute of Radiological Sciences, and had quickly become a key member of our new Committee 5 on protection of the environment. His impressive scientific skills as well as his pleasant personality were greatly appreciated. His kind, quiet manners will be rememered, and he will be greatly missed.
