ICRP Welcomes Dr Takashi Yasumune

On behalf of the entire ICRP membership, we would like to welcome Dr Takashi Yasumune to the Scientific Secretariat.  With special thanks to the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), Dr Yasumune will join ICRP as Assistant Scientific Secretary and Associate Editor of the Annals of ICRP.

Takashi Yasumune received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Kyushu University in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He also received his Doctorate in engineering from Kyushu University in 2012, and the subject of his thesis was "Development of measurement method for luminescence properties of scintillators in cryogenic temperatures". In April 2012, he joined the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).

He has done individual exposure monitoring at Oarai Research and Development Institute of the JAEA. He also has researched about X-ray and gamma ray spectrometers using superconductive materials for internal dose estimation, and has acquired a patent for “Method for Analyzing Contained Transuranium Element Mixed with Fission Product".
