The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) is proud to congratulate Dominique Laurier, member of the ICRP Main Commission and Chair of Committee 1 (Radiation Effects), on being awarded the title of Knight of the National Order of Merit of France.
Awarded on behalf of the President of the French Republic, this prestigious distinction recognises Dominique’s outstanding contributions to advancing scientific knowledge of the effects of low-level ionising radiation, as well as his significant contributions to the work of international organisations in this field.
The award reflects a career dedicated to strengthening the scientific foundations of radiological protection and contributing expertise to the international community, work that continues to play an important role in ICRP’s mission and the development of radiological protection worldwide.
The ceremony took place on 23 September 2026 at the premises of the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiological Protection (ASNR), in the presence of colleagues and representatives from UNSCEAR, the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), and ICRP.
ICRP extends its warmest congratulations to Dominique on this distinguished and well-deserved honour, and is proud to see his contributions to radiological protection recognised at the national level.
